Dekko Video Courses for Schools
Dekko Video Courses – Online Usage Licence (Schools & Teachers Use Only): Thank you for purchasing a licence for Dekko Video Courses for Schools. This grants your school/organisation access to Dekko’s online library of educational videos courses hosted by www.dekkocomics.com, subject to the terms stated in this licence agreement.
All teachers within your school may access and use Dekko Video Courses for Schools in their classrooms as an educational resource or as targeted intervention material. The video courses will aid a variety of learning-types, especially those who are neurodivergent, in discovering ways of learning that work well for them – helping to boost their confidence, engagement and retention of information.
Dekko Video Courses for Schools are a teaching resource for teacher-use and not permitted for pupils to access at home. If pupils need to use them independently on a school computer or device, it must be under the approval and supervision of a teacher or member of staff within the school. In such circumstances, the teacher must sign-in using the provided login for the pupil/s in question and not share the login with them directly under any circumstances.
The Buyer acknowledges that the purchase and usage of a Dekko Video Course for Schools licence comes with a non-exclusive limited use licence. The Buyer understands that the licence agreement states the product is for school-wide use only. The login and access to the video courses are licensed to a school and its teaching and support staff, for use on their computers, smart boards and school-tablets (iPads and Chromebooks, etc) only. They are not to be accessed or logged into outside the school walls or by people not associated with the school. You agree to these terms by completing the transaction and/or logging in to access Dekko Video Courses for Schools and/or downloading any additional content (activity sheets etc).
Dekko Comics Ltd remains the sole and exclusive owner and holder of the copyright of the content, design and the registered trademark of Dekko Comics. Purchase does not transfer rights.
The Buyer may not otherwise alter, edit or manipulate the video course content or the licence agreement. The Buyer may not share, distribute, sell or otherwise allow a third-party to use the digital content or access their login in any way. The Buyer acknowledges that: the service may end at any time subject to Dekko Comics' sole discretion; lifetime access shall be made available so long as our service plans are made available; our service and its features may change at any time; our service shall not continue where technological changes make our products obsolete; our service shall not continue where we cease to operate, suspend our plans, are declared bankrupt or otherwise cease to operate.
IN SIMPLE TERMS:
You Can:
1. Allow teaching and support staff within your school to access the video courses via the login provided and use it in teaching or intervention scenarios.
2. Allow pupils to use the video courses independently provided it’s within the school walls and that a teacher signs into the device FOR them.
3. Print out any of the downloadable materials (activity sheets, curriculum guides, etc) and distribute them throughout the class or school.
4. Host the video course content over a video call (eg: Zoom or Teams) where you “share screen” for remote teaching – so long as it is not recorded and still being hosted and supervised within the school by a teacher or member of staff – and not at the homes of any pupils.
You Cannot:
1. Share the online access to anyone outside your school via email, cloud, messaging or any other means.
2. Record, share or upload a recording of the video course material in any way.
3. Share the login with pupils – all sign-ins must be made by a teacher within the school, and any independent pupil-usage must be supervised and onsite at the school).
4. Allow pupils to access the video course login by themselves in any way.
5. Allow pupils or parents to access the school’s video courses at home in any way (with the exception of remote-learning over an online call – as stated above).
6. Sell or give the video course licence, login or video content to anyone else.
7. Sell printed or digital copies of the downloadable material to anyone.
8. Edit, manipulate or alter any of the video content.
9. Upload digital files of the content online to the internet for the purpose of distributing to others.
10. Use the digital files or printed hard copies of the files for ANY commercial use, or products for sale.
If you are not a school and are instead an education-support charity or establishment, this agreement applies to your organisation and the agreed boundaries of use. The licence of usage applies to whichever members of staff will be using the material and it must only be used in the context of a teaching resource or as support. It cannot be shared, accessed or used independently by the people you are supporting within your organisation.
Dekko Comics Ltd thanks you for your support in following this Licence Agreement. Dekko Comics Ltd also offer custom licence agreements. Dekko Comics Ltd is not subject to the CLA Licence to copy and requires a school-wide licence to be purchased prior to allowing online access within a school/organisation for multiple classes and students.
